Well, I've done it. I made the shift I've been aiming for since the beginning of the year. I finally understood I was going to have to be on camera to produce videos for Read Your Life. I mean, please, I'm trying to "tell" people about a visual process: can't be done....duh! But I had to overcome my fear (embarrassment, terror) of being in front of the lens instead of behind it.
The opportunity to win a scholarship to the exciting Selling Your Soul Conference, to be held by two incredible internet marketing divas, Marie Forleo and Danielle LaPorte gave me the "kick in the panties" I needed to get it done. I'd love to win the contest and be in the same space as 151 other women who are hot to build their business doing what they know they're here on the planet to do. And in NYC no less!
But regardless of which of the worthy women (and there are many) actually gets to hold onto the golden ticket, I've already won. I did my time on camera and then I spent a lot of hours watching the woman I am today on the screen as I edited the two minute piece. What did I discover? It was a Read Your Life smorgasbord! The images I chose and the words I used consistently astounded me. I experienced just what I teach. I saw the "me" beneath the face and the hair and the crazy scarf. That's the point of it all: to uncover the parts of myself, and others, that we just skip over because we don't "read" our lives through (what appear to be) our simplest, unconscious choices.
Bottom line...I'm all ready to step into this forum, this medium, this moment and make videos to show what I mean instead of tell what I mean. It's already been a mountaintop week. My skills have expanded by leaps and bounds. And I haven't spent a dime. Pretty phenomenal stuff. Got your gift girls! Thanks Danielle and Marie.
